My story: I was abandoned outside a vet's office in Mykonos. I was very scared and protected myself by not letting anyone come close to me for a week. Eventually I started feeling bad from all the stress and let the vet take a look at me. My stomach was a mess from the stress and I had developed a major gastro issue. They kept me a week on IVs and I miraculously survived! I have now accepted that my old owners will not come looking for me and I am waiting for a new family to adopt me.
