Role description:
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for executing specifically designed projects to promote our cause to achieve zero stray dogs and cats in municipalities where we are active. The role will translate strategic imperatives of Zero Stray Pawject (ZSP) into clear actions and ensure they are executed well and measured appropriately. The Key Account Manager will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, most notably, key stakeholders within a municipality (i.e. mayor, vice mayor, municipal employees in charge of public health and companion animals), the police, veterinarians, schoolmasters, local animal welfare, and other interest groups, such as the local hunting and breeding associations.
He/ she will work with selective municipalities who successfully graduate from the Zero Stray Academy (ZSA) training and help municipalities to implement the learnings from the training to achieve zero strays. In particular, our focus lies on promoting and enforcing responsible pet ownership and prevent owned pets from being abandoned and overproduced, which municipalities are key to enact.
Zero Stray Academy (www.zerostrayacademy.org)_ teaches municipalities how to reduce the number of stray companion animals systematically and sustainably with a cruelty-free approach by applying the “Zero Stray Pawject” stray generation prevention model. The Key Account Manager is expected to form close relationships with municipal employees and key stakeholders to ensure that ZSP learnings generated over the past years (read here how we reduced stray dogs in Aegina), along with the other educational content offered by ZSA is applied in practice for maximum impact.
The Key Account Manager will manage complexity and will have to ensure that while stakeholders with different opinions are heard, decisive action is taken to promote change. The Key Account Manager will have to deal with unexpected situations in real time and will have to think out-of-the-box to solve those matters. Experience in handling complex organization matters is a must. The ideal candidate is highly persuasive, can easily influence various different stakeholders on senior administration and policy level, has excellent communication skills, is a self-starter and can easily work remotely without being constantly supervised. The ideal candidate as a passion for pets and buys into our vision to improve public health, public safety and quality of life for pets and people.
The position is for a Greek National or someone who is not only proficient in Greek but also highly accustomed to how the country operates. Proficiency (or near-proficiency) in English is required.
This is a full-time position, and you will be expected to work according to its requirements and needs, which might involve out-of-business hours work or weekend commitments. Travel will be required (50%), and you will be expected to spend time on the ground with the municipalities where we are active to ensure the projects are executed well.
The Key Account Manager will work remotely and report into the country director Zero Stray Pawject Greece. There will be accountability to the senior management which is based in New York. The Key Account Manager will be required to provide frequent updates on the progress of the work and deliver on KPIs to proof success.

Academy Content Manager – Athens
Zero Stray Pawject, Inc is looking for an experienced Academy Content Manager to join our team.
Zero Stray Academy is the first academy in the world that trains municipalities, the police and the judicial how to end pet homelessness and how animal abuse links to other forms of violence, like domestic violence, even terrorism, organized crime and murder and why animal abuse must be taken seriously by the state and judicial to prevent serious harm on humans. Zero Stray Academy contains 42 professors from Greece and 5 professors from abroad. Zero stray Academy was founded in September 2021 and since has trained over 135 municipalities, over 446 police officers and over 80 DAs and judges (status July 2024).
Job description:
The Academy Content Manager is a crucial team member of the academy who works closely with the academy director and reports directly into the founders, based in New York. The academy has grown in education classes offered to various stakeholder groups over the past year and requires a rigorous approach to ensure that the curricula of various courses are complementary and not overlapping within the same course. He/ she must ensure all classes meet our philosophy and are actionable. The content must be produced within consistent branding. He/ she must design and build a digital version for certain stakeholder groups to create digital content for shorter training classes. The content must be packaged to potentially roll out to other countries in the future. The Academy content manager will work closely with the academy director and professors to ensure the content is delivered within the highest standards. The content manager will analyze pre-and post-surveys and suggest actions for improvement of the content. The content manager will also work on additional projects that enable the academy to reach wider audiences to support ending pet homelessness in Greece.

Chief of Staff and program manager for our funding partner– Athens/ remote in Greece
Zero Stray Pawject, Inc is looking for an experienced Chief of Staff and program manager working alongside our major funding partner to join our team.
Zero Stray Pawject, Inc is an innovative organization with a public health and animal welfare angle that designs, executes, and measures stray animal prevention programs to solve the root-cause of stray dogs and cats that pose a public health and safety risk in communities with many strays. Zero Stray Pawject is a small and growing NGO with a team of public health, law, veterinary, animal welfare, business management and economics experts across three continents. Zero Stray Pawject works closely with municipalities, its mayors and directors of public health, law enforcement, local veterinarians, and schoolmasters. We design and execute municipal stray prevention programs that reduce the "production" of stray pets and at the same time drive societal change that is long term orientated. We ensure to have clear KPIs in place to measure success.
Zero Stray Academy is Greece’s first academy (and presumably the world’s first academy) that trains municipalities, police and the judicial how to reduce the number of strays systematically and sustainably. ZSP academy attracts some of the best subject matter experts across Greece including government officials, municipal speakers, senior leaders across law enforcement, the judicial arm, leading veterinarians, industry experts and key animal welfare leaders.
Job description:
The Chief of Staff is a crucial team member of Zero Stray Pawject who works closely with the founders, board and funding partners across both, Zero Stray Pawject and Zero Stray Academy. The Chief of staff has a direct reporting line into the founders, based in New York.
- The Chief of staff is a strategic and analytical thinker with a strong program management background who can deliver programs and projects under the most challenging conditions.
- He/ she will be the strategic and executional link between the founders and ongoing work of Zero Stray Pawject and our funding partners and answer any program specific questions to the funding partner.
- He/ she is a self-starter and acts as a confidential advisor, helping the founders and board to executive strategic priorities aligned with the funding partners to deliver impact towards ending pet homelessness in Greece.
- The chief of staff has a high level of project and program management responsibility and oversees large, strategic programs, bringing together stakeholders and driving decision-making. He/ she will work with opposite opinions and will be confident to drive decision making forward in the most diplomatic way to achieve results.
- He/ she is also in charge of administrative tasks, such as managing calendars of key decision makers, managing budget, plan meetings, workshop and events. He/ she will need to be highly organized.
- He/ she must provide hands-on support and help transform ideas into reality while monitoring progress through well-defined KPIs by working hand in hand with the country director and director of the academy to deliver results back to the board, founders and funding partners.
- To this end, he/ she must set or help execute KPIs to measure and improve performance of programs.
- He/ she will play a crucial role in team efficiency by guiding department heads.
- He / she will be also a personal timekeeper and potentially organize the founder’s schedule and travel arrangements.
- Towards the funding partner, he/ she will answer on behalf of the founders, act with integrity, trust and expertise.
- He/ she will present the founders and other board and funding partner members with detailed company operations analysis and complete special projects with skillful oversight and support.
