Obituary

July lived many happy months in our shelter and was SPONSORED by hafssa serraj. she was due to travel to the UK on December 14th 2017 into her new home and sadly died on November 6th 2017 in the arms of the shelter staff from cancer.

We are shattered by the thought that July left us shortly before she finally would have found her forever home. On November 6th July went over the Rainbow bridge. he passed away from cancer that had already spread in her body. July stopped eating on November 4th and had pain in her stomach. As she did not respond to treatment, the vet performed surgery and found that the cancer had spread over her whole body. Her organs were bleeding to death, which is the most painful death anyone can experience. There was nothing to do for July anymore and the shelter decided to let per go over the rainbow bridge on November 6th, so that she wouldn't suffer anymore. July just got adopted by a wonderful family in the UK and was due to travel to the UK on December 14th. We are all shattered.

Life is sometimes not fair. But at least, she experienced love in the last months since entering the shelter. She now runs free, without pain.

July was born in Jan 2014, Rescued on the 1st of July 2017 (hence her name!) and was due to get adopted in December 2017, which never happened.

Breed: Boxer Mix.

July suffered from certain health issues, such as a chronicle problem with her ear, which impacts her balance (she moves her head to the right-hand side frequently). She also has a rupture of the cruciate ligament of the back leg. Both don't impact her quality of life and has no pain, so she does not need painkillers.

My story: I was found wandering the streets of Aegina, without a collar, without a microchip and nobody in the area recognized me. Very likely I am just another victim of my previous owner just dumping me on the street and abandoning me. Probably because I am a little different and my previous owner might have not wanted to put up with a dog like me. I am very friendly and get on with all other dogs. I am very good with people.  I would love to live in a family with my humans and have a warm bed to sleep and being cuddled and loved.
