Individual Impact Of Individual Lives Saved
moca waited for over 1000 nights and was doomed non-adoptable but thanks to zsp she found paradise on earth
Born in April 2012, rescued in 2015, adopted in August 2018
Breed: "The always smiling pittie lady" with some leash aggression and anxieties to overcome
Current Home: With Erin P. and her family, Jackson their 5 years old shepherd and Bailey, their 12 years old Dachshund
My story: I was found abandoned on the streets of Greece and was rescued and lived in a shelter for over 3 years. Because of my sweet and loving nature, I got adopted twice in Aegina but sadly I was returned a week later as the families could not handle my leash aggression. But since I am still such an amazing dog and had zero chance in Greece, Zero Stray Pawject traveled with me to the US in April 2018 to find me with a home. Most of Europe has a pit bull import ban, so the US is my only hope.
I am a sweetheart who constantly smiles, wags her little tail and I am generally very happy. However, in unfamiliar territory with unfamiliar dogs I was not good on the leash and showed some leash aggression. Not a big deal, but in combination with the stigma of being a pitbull, it took ages for me to find the right family. And Zero Stray Pawject is very careful where they place their dogs, so they were extra careful to find me with the right home.
But after months of searching in the U.S. and speaking to over 50 families, ZSP finally managed to find Erin for me. Erin has a male shepherd who also has some anxieties and she is dog experienced and has done a lot of training. In fact, Jackson helps me so much because he takes the lead, so I totally stopped my leash aggression when we walk together. I am super happy in my new home and I thank ZSP from the bottom of my heart for not giving up on me and for finding me with such a loving home where I can finally be the happy dog, wagging her tail all day!
