Individual Impact Of Individual Lives Saved

michael and mirto lived next to a busy highway and were almost killed but were rescued by zsp and adopted together

Born in Jan 2016, rescued in 2018, adopted in September 2018

Breed: "The bonded happy pair from the busy highway where they almost got killed”

Current Home: With Daniel and Jessica and their dog Khal

My story: ZSP came across our pack of roaming stray dogs in Thessaloniki in December 2017. The pack consisted of our mom and 5 of our siblings. We are all big dogs and some of us love to chase cars. We jumped on the highway and barked at the cars. But the cars kept speeding by and did not stop. Silja from ZSP tried to get us off the highway.

She started feeding us and Michael who is the pack leader really liked her and jumped into her car. From this moment on, Silja knew she had to help us. ZSP does not have any resources in Thessaloniki, helping us was rally something that required a huge amount of effort and favors. Silja organized for a friend to pick us up and we traveled first to Athens where Silja picked us up and brought us to a safe place where we were fostered for a few months. We could not find a home in Greece sadly because we are big dogs and inseparable. To find a family that would adopt 2 large adult dogs, we had to travel all the way to the U.S. We traveled in September 2018 to the U.S. and ZSP managed to find us a wonderful family. Dan and Jess fell in love with us and after an initial home visit, we made it very clear that we really wanted to stay. We now live in a house with a huge yard where we can run around all day, Dan and Jess take us on long hiking trips in the countryside, we get to sleep on the couch or in our dog beds and we are getting so many cuddles every day. We both are super affectionate and over the moon that we could find a home together.

ZSP made it possible that we were taken off the busy highway and found the best ever forever home, TOGETHER.

What a change of life for us! Thank you ZSP!
